Two different kinds of brand

Pfister, once sold as Price Pfister, is a faucet maker with its own parts catalog at pfisterfaucets.com. Glacier Bay is a store brand sold at The Home Depot, made by several suppliers over the years. That difference matters for repairs.
Pfister parts can usually be found by model number. Glacier Bay parts depend on which supplier built that faucet, so the model number from the box or the receipt, or the old cartridge itself, is the key to a match.

Finding the model
- Pfister: look for a tag on the supply lines under the sink, or the logo on the handle. The handle and spout shape narrow down the family.
- Glacier Bay: the original box, the receipt or the store order history often has the model and the store item number. Tags under the sink help too.
- No markings: once the cartridge is out, it can be measured and matched against parts listings.
Text us a photo of the faucet, the handle and anything under the sink before the visit.

Drips from the spout
Single-handle faucets from both brands mostly use ceramic disc cartridges. A drip from the spout, a handle that turns too far or water that will not get fully hot usually means the cartridge has worn. Two-handle faucets have a cartridge or stem on each side; checking which side drips tells us which to replace. Older Pfister two-handle faucets may use stems with washers and seats, which are cheap to rebuild.
Leaks under the sink
Water in the cabinet is often the pull-down hose, a loose supply line, or a cracked faucet body. Glacier Bay pull-down faucets and Pfister pull-downs both use quick-connect hoses that can crack at the fitting. A leak only while the sprayer is out points to the hose. A leak whenever water runs, from inside the base, may be the body itself, and replacement is the fix.

Tub and shower valves
Pfister tub and shower valves are common in older valley homes. They have their own cartridges, and the trim plate and handle help identify which. A shower that drips, swings in temperature, or will not turn off fully usually needs a new cartridge.
Glacier Bay shower trims ride on valves from different suppliers, so the cartridge comes out first and gets matched. See shower valve and cartridge repair.
Repair or replace
For a sound faucet with parts available, repair. For a cracked body, peeling finish, or a store-brand faucet whose parts cannot be identified, replace. A mid-range faucet often costs less to replace than the time spent tracking down an orphan part. See faucet repair or replace.

Rental units
Store-brand faucets are popular in rentals for good reason: they are easy to buy and replace. Keeping the box or a note of the model for each unit makes later repairs fast. We can label the under-sink area with the model during any visit. See repairs for landlords.
A typical visit
You text a photo of a kitchen faucet that drips and a handle that feels gritty. We ask for anything under the sink with a model. On site we close the stops, remove the handle, pull the cartridge and compare it to the replacement we brought.
- From Alhambra to Azusa
- Rentals get Pfister faucet help too
If it matches, it goes in; if it does not, we measure it and source the right one, or offer a replacement faucet. Afterward we flush the lines with the aerator off and check for drips.

- Brand stamp on the handle or under the sink
- Store receipt or model sticker
- Cartridge type, if it was replaced before
- Where the drip comes from
- Finish color for replacement parts
- Valves that still close
Shutoffs and supplies
Old stops under the sink often do not fully close. Replacing them during a faucet repair is quick. See angle stop replacement.
Independent service
We are not affiliated with Pfister or The Home Depot. We name these brands only to describe faucets we repair.
- Shut it offTurn the valve under the fixture clockwise, or the main valve.
- Relieve pressureOpen a faucet nearby so the line drains.
- Contain itTowels and a bucket; unplug anything wet.

Hard water and cartridges
Mineral scale builds up on ceramic discs and O-rings, making handles stiff and seals weak. When we pull a cartridge, we wipe scale from the valve body before the new one goes in so it seats fully. A faucet that keeps getting stiff in a few years may benefit from cleaning the aerator and cartridge seats more often.
Bathroom faucets with pop-up drains
Both brands often ship bath faucets with a pop-up drain. When the stopper will not stay up or will not seal, the pivot rod under the sink needs adjusting or a new clip. A drain that drips at the joint under the basin needs a fresh gasket.

Kitchen sprayer heads
A spray head that leaks at the button, or will not switch between stream and spray, is usually replaced as a unit. Matching the thread and hose connector to the faucet model is the main thing. Pfister lists spray heads by model; for Glacier Bay we match from the model number or the old head.
